This is an old complaint, but I thought I would warn people about this shady bank. Around 1998, I purchased a used car for my then husband. He had bad credit,so we put it in my name thru a car loan with National City Bank.About 3 years later,we seperated, and he decided he no longer wanted this vehicle so he basically dumped it on me.I had a new baby,no job,and my only income was his when we were married and had to move in with my family. I got a part time job and made a few of the car payments, even though I had a car of my own to pay for and did not want or need this car.I tried to sell this car but could not sell it for what I owe. A few months later,I decided to file for bankrupcy since I had many bills in my name but no longer had my ex's income. This included the car of my ex's that was in my name.Well, National City cleared me of the debt, but refused to repossess the car! They said it had to be worth at least $2,000 to repossess it,and this car was not worth that much. They would not give me the title of the car, even after I offered to buy it from them. So,I was stuck with a car but without the title,so I could never sell it or give it away to a charity.I guess they expected me to store this car forever! My attorney said to drive it to there parking lot and leave it there since it was their car, but I already mentioned that to them on the phone, and they said if I did that I was abandoning property and could face charges. But since I filed bankrupcy,it is no longer my car, it is theirs!! Well, I guess you are wandering what happened to this car. It got passed along to a friend who passed it along to a co-worker,and it basically got passed around, and I think it finally got dumped somewhere, but when the police find the car and trace the owner,it will be traced to National City Bank, since they are the owners!

I think this person did take responsibility and do the right thing by filing for bankrupcy since she no longer had her husband's income to pay off the debt. National City Bank is the one not taking responsibility here and trying to pass it off on someone else, namely a single mother who apparently has not much of an income.National City Bank if a multi-billion dollar company should of taken responsibility for this car.

Basically this is anther story of someone refusing to take responsibility for anything. What do you want the bank to do? You were given a loan in good faith, in good faith it must be paid back, the bank is not in the used car business. This is a typical story of how people are today. The mortgage mess is another.
